ROUNDTABLE TO ADDRESS LINK BETWEEN ENERGY AND HEALTH

Durban, South Africa, 06 May 2013 – This Wednesday, groundWork [1], together with the University of KwaZulu Natal [2], will be holding a roundtable to discuss the impacts on environmental and human health from fossil fuel based energy processes [3].

The objective of the roundtable is to bring together health professionals and energy experts to discuss the health implications of our current energy policy and systems in KwaZulu Natal and South Africa; and to develop a position for a healthy energy policy and also to develop a collaborative strategy for mobilizing the health sector on energy and health impacts.

This is the second in a series of roundtables, the first having already taken place in Cape Town and the third and last taking place in Johannesburg.
